Video monitoring, suspected seizure...

We've just been awoken by a choking sound to see the end of a suspected seizure in our 5-month-old. This is the second time in three weeks this has happened; this time the baby was moving all over, the first time it was zoned out. The first time, after an 8-hour wait, Crumlin A&E said they needed video evidence to be able to say what happened. That visit cost €100.

We bought the well-reviewed (on Amazon) Angelcare monitor which is utterly useless as we cannot playback what has happened and bring it to a consultant if necessary.

First, would anybody have recommendations for a good monitor that will video record the baby overnight?

Second, would it be pointless/a waste of money to make an appointment with a neurologist without video evidence? Would they have to keep the baby in overnight? We are afraid if we cannot get this sorted asap things will get worse. Thank you.

Ok so my 14 month old had a possible atypical seizure at 8ish months and had a cranial ultrasound. The plan was/is that she have an EEG and a CT after another one. She has collapsed once since but we have left it for now: if it happens again they are definitely what's going to happen. So they can pick up something without video evidence.

They generally allow them one "seizure" before tests. I would look for a referral: go to your GP today regardless obviously. Hope all is ok it's extremely scary :(
