Dropbox - loads of queries!

    Hey all

Hoping for some advice. I have a dropbox account for personal pics and videos, about four years worth. Currently the folder to which everything uploads is on my work computer. I am leaving this job and stupidly thought if I deleted the folder everything would still be in the cloud but apparently that's not the case.

I don't have a reliable laptop at home already have had to wipe it twice. What are my options here in terms of transferring my pics. I have a samsung phone with the dropbox app (everything uploads from that to my office PC when I'm at my desk) but there is no way that would have enough storage, would it??

When I open it, (the phone), it does seem to have everything on it though and according to my phone its taking up 60MB which wouldn't even come close to everything I have. I assume if I delete the folder of my linked computer it would wipe everything off this phone also.

So I guess I have two questions, what can I do in terms of safely transferring and storing the pics and ensure that nothing is left on my work PC.

Secondly does it seem like I am also storing on my phone also? If this is not the linked device why is everything on my DB app on my phone.

Actually one final question, I have a small work folder on my DB also, how can I get this onto my work system/ or work dropbox efficiently.

Thanks, hope I have explained everything. Any suggestion much appreciated.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that you couldn't keep it all in the cloud.

Open the dropbox application on your work machine and under the settings you have the option to "unlink account". This will remove the connection from your work machine, and then you can safely delete the folder.

The files will continue to live in cloud storage.
