Sun Holiday end of August - don't care where!

    Hi all,

Head is wrecked with a million different websites so decided to come and ask for your help :)

Myself and the boyfriend have decided we want to go away for a sun/beach holiday - the only time we can get off work together is the last two weeks in August. We're looking at going for 7-10 days, preferably from Knock or Shannon.

The thing is, we don't really have a care as to where we go. We'd like to book it as cheap as possible within reason, up to around €400 each would be the max because we'd like to have a bit of spending money over there.

We're in our early twenties and it will be our first foreign holiday together - we have no interest in night life, just looking to chill out for the week.

The problem I've encountered is every website asks you to input your destination in order to get prices - is there any site where you can enter your dates, and outward airport and get a list of special offers?

I always hear of people getting great prices booking flights and accommodation separately but it seems like everywhere is expensive to fly to at this time of year!

skyscanner, just put in knock/shannon in the from box and 'everywhere' or a particular country in the destination box and you can opt to search by whole month if your dates are flexible. That'll give you flights and you can use trivago/alpharooms to find a hotel once you've got a good priced flight.

Skyscanner is the way to go for finding the cheapest/preferred flights even when you don't know where to go yet.

As for "don't care where" I hope you'd reconsider your thinking. It's your hard earned money after all so why not spend it on a holiday that's better than rolling the dice?

My advice is ask yourself what type of food you would enjoy. Are you looking for Spanish tapas, Italian wine, Portuguese seafood, French pastries, etc.. Besides relaxing in the sun you have to eat so you might well enjoy it the most :)

You're seriously limiting your options by picking only Knock or Shannon. Sometimes good deals can be had from Belfast, which is only a few hours further of a drive. Thomson do package trips from there.

Remember also you're unlikely to find charter/package flights on Skyscanner.

Also €400 each for the end of August is similarly going to seriously limit your options.

E400 is not a lot of dosh for a holiday at the end of August......

Sun holiday but no need for night life? I'd check out torrevieja.
