I received a new modem today, when I connected to the LAN this is the speed I got, seeing as it's before 5pm surely it should be way higher especially as my account is for 100mb, is there anything I need to do to speed it up or do I need to call UPC?

    Any advice gratefully received :)

I had it replaced with the same model they can sometimes be not very accommodating when it comes to choosing what they replace it with(and im not willing to risk paying for a call out)(, I had heard they stopped supplying it though, Id pm UPC reps with your details as Bryan there try to be helpful and will do what he can for you

Thanks for that, It won't let me PM Brian directly, so I've just sent a PM to the UPC Reps. Fingers crossed they'll do something about it. Otherwise I might as well go for the cheaper option and save myself a few euro :)

Just gone through the same problem with the folks modem. Same one sent on 120mb package. There's a thread here on it about the firmware issue with the modem. If your computer only has a 10/100 network card the modem limits the speed to around the 30/40mb mark. You should get faster over wifi.

I rang last week to be told they would try and source an older Cisco or technicolor modem. We're still waiting!
