I think the store is closing at the end of June and the sale started yesterday. Not very good so far. Mostly 15-20% off. Expect bigger discounts closer to the closing date.

Homebase fonthill had an average closing down sale last year. It's still open.

The Longford one is actually closing. I heard some bad numbers about that place. Surprised it didn't go earlier!

Yep, this is an actual closing down sale. I know people who are affected. They also said they are surprised it stayed up into 2015, as the place looks abandoned at times

Sale is not that good yet though - only a few quid of a few random things - but they will have to shift things in coming weeks

Sorry to hear of it for the staff. Tough on them.

I went in there today on my way from Dublin when I saw the sign saying closing down. I came on here to post up and saw this thread.

The last few days have been hot and I cant have my gaming room window open as my cats will escape, so I got myself a nice fan cooler/heater which matches my PC perfectly. It is normally €61 in Homebase, it was on sale in the shop at half price and then because of the closing down sale it had another 40% off the sale price. So I paid €18 for it!

It lights up blue when its cooling and lights up red when heating. Here is the front of my Lian-Li PC case, I would have bought it even without the discount!

Had they any more of those fans in stock did you happen to see?

They had at least 5 more in stock when I picked up mine.

I was in there today, they have a good selection of floor standing lamps that are 30% off, a lot of radiators, heaters that were 30% off, drills and other power tools are 30%, internal doors were 50% off, the upstairs which housed the kitchen/bathroom stuff is completely closed now.

We picked up a lamp that was 30% off, €45 down to close to €30. Not bad.
