Hi folks. Just wondering has anyone got any information about driving with foot drop?? I had a bike crash 3 years ago and have permanent foot drop on my right foot and have to wear a brace AFO to keep my foot up but im not sure if its legal to drive while wearing a brace and from what i can tell its not even considered a disability so i cant even apply for a vehicle adaption grant to get the accelerator moved to the left side. I have emailed the disabled drivers association who never replied and i just dont know where to begin to find info.

I think the Irish Wheelchair Association should be able to advise you. They don't only help people who are confined to wheelchairs, and they deal with things like grants etc all the time. If nothing else they'll be able to tell you how to go about finding out what, if anything, you're entitled to.
