How does CEX work? I want to sell a phone.

    I have an iPhone, I'm upgrading in a couple of weeks. The phone is locked at the moment but I can get an unlocking code from Three.

    There is a store in my town but I haven't gone in yet, was hoping to find out what the general run of things is first.

    Do they inspect the phone at the counter and then offer you a price or do you have to wait to see if it sells before they will give you any money?

    It's an iPhone 4, 8GB, White. It works perfectly, no scratches on the screen, a few chips on the rim but that's it. Have the receipt, no box, have cable and plug.

    (Don't know if the item description makes a difference or not) I thought they might just refuse to take another iPhone 4 as they're old.

    They'll take it off you and test it for a while in store. If it passes testing then they'll give you the money for it. You don't wait for it to sell.

    Great thanks, do you think it would be worth my while getting it unlocked or would it make any difference price wise?

    you should get about 80 from them if its unlocked

    Have a look here at the guideline prices, A,B and C are their condition guides, you would get slightly more for an unlocked one I'd imagine

    Unlocked should get you a bit more for it.
