    Hi,
I registered as a sole trader with revenue a couple of weeks ago, do I automatically receive a tax clearance certificate from them now?

I doubt it. Generally, you have to apply for tax clearance, with a TC1. You may be requested to complete a Return of Income form for the year prior also.

You need to apply every year for one.

You can apply for a tax clearance certificate on the revenue website. Revenue.ie. It does not automatically reissue each year and they are changing their system at the end of the year.

I haven't been working for the last couple of years and have only registered in the last few weeks as a sole trader. Apologies if that was a silly question, I'm new to all this!!
Thanks a lot for your replies, will get on to it tomorrow!
