    Hi all,
I am interested in buying a house but the guy that owns it told me that revenue took it off him. The house is vacant now for a couple of months. Anyone know how I can inquire if I can buy it or who would I contact.

    Thanks a million
    Paula

If the 'guy that owns it' claims the revenue took it off him....i'm guessing i wouldnt go near him to buy it.

Personally I'd steer well clear. Assuming he had a mortgage, there would be issues then between banks & revenue getting title deeds etc.

I can imagine it being a nightmare.

Thanks daheff. Im nearly certain there was no mortgage on it. This guy owns a good few properties this particular estate. He still has the rest of them so im not worried about a mortgage he may had to repay. How or who would you know of that I could contact? Is it possible to buy a house from reveneu?

Sounds like they have a Charge on the property. I'd contact a solicitor who should be able to assess the title through the Land Registry
