Loose laptop screen connection

Hi all, I am pretty sure I have a weak laptop screen connection, and I'm wondering how easy/expensive it will be to fix.

Basically, if you don't have the laptop lid open at a certain angle, the colours distort quite significantly. The black pixels turn bright green, and the whites turn pink. It's completely fine as long as you don't have it open either too wide or too little. Anybody know if it's a big deal to fix or not? It's two years old, and has served me well so far. It has gotten progressively worse over the last two months, I imagine eventually the screen will just go altogether. Not the end of the world if it needs to be replaced.

Its the ribbon in the hinge alright, your diagnosis is correct. The part is usually cheap as chips, the labour will be a bit more.

To replace it you have to lift the screen away from its backing, and access the associated clip down port on the motherboard. Sometimes that just requires taking off the keyboard, sometimes its a full chasis takedown. Get a quote, but I'd say €80 would be reasonable all in.
