Nothing particularly strong tomorrow but I have had a small bet on Taglietelle in the 5.00 race at the Curragh. He was having his first run back on the level since making big strides over sticks when finishing second lto and was probably unsuited by the way the race unfolded there as he could not reel in the front running Face Value. Although he has been raised 4lbs for that run he is still potentially very well treated if able to translate the improvement from the NH game back to the flat. Jockey has been a prolific winner on the pony racing circuit and is able to claim 10lbs here.
    1pt Win (7/1 Bt365)

Really strong on In Salutem in the 2.15, has been running well, from a mark of 86, i thought with a better ride he would have won last time out, runs off 87, ground trip and track all fine, i've had a really decent cut at 11/2 (NAP)

Found could be a superstar, but i wont have a single win bet on her at 7/4 with 18 runners, i've backed Jack Naylor e/w at 12/1 just a few bob, she wasnt far of Found last year and ran some great races, Hughes on board tomorrow is also a positive for me. 1st run of the season would be some training performance to win the race, but she wont be far away at the death.

Other bet for the day is a Canadian with In Salutem , and 4 shorties , The Grey Gatsby (best horse in the race), Found (could be a superstar), Tribal Beat (should go close if improved from his 1st run in a maiden at the curragh) and Sollow in France

Queen of Alba 20-1 ew 4.30
Faced some stiff opposition this year, this a somewhat easier task.
4th in a listed race over this distance 4 back.
I like it's ew appeal here.
20-1 with PP plus they're to place 4.

Happy with position 5f out then BANG. Horse hit the wall and looked like a donkey on a
    beach.

Surely 13/8 about The Grey Gatsby is a wheelbarrow job?

Lisa Harrison's 'Solway' horses often improve for a step up in trip so Solway Trigger might be worth a small ew interest in the first at Uttoxeter at 80-1. Shown very little so far but this looks a pretty dire race.

Backed Raydara at 100/1 for the Oaks so hoping for a good showing today

I think the ground may be a little soft today, but hoping for a good show, placed at least would be my expectation

Think the trip might be a little on short side, but more than hopeful of a place before going onto much better things

On all known form, yep, I'd be very wary of Cumani's Postponed although he's a 12f horse he has has huge potential.

Doesn't look like giovanni canaletto will be a derby horse.

The trainer said to Tracy Piggott they have left plenty on The Grey Gatsby so not at his peak?

I'm not sure, He isn't getting 7lbs from Al Kazeem this year and it looks to me like there may be nothing between them which makes Al KAzeem the value. Postponed doesn't really look a Group 1 horse yet and i'm not sure how he is the same price as a proven G1 horse like Al Kazeem. 100/30 isnt normall my type of bet but its tempting enough..

The Grey Gatsby looks a bit pudgy in the parade ring.

He's run about a stone below his best. Think there's something seriously wrong with the horse's temperament at this stage.

Golden Spear should have won that for Tony Martin. Lordan just ran into so much trouble.

For those that hold onto the mantra that "they never come back", well Al Kazeem has proved there are no absolutes in racing.

He's not exactly his old 126 self, what did he beat today? The Grey Gatsby today was obviously a shadow of the one who beat Al Kazeem 6 /2l last year.

The race was a great spectacle but the result was more Group 2 or 3 form.

Fascinating Rock 113 nearly collared him and Postponed who was right there is rated 116 and earned that rating over 12f at York and only ran to 112-113 on his last start over 10f.

Al Kazeem himself was rated 120 before today after being bunked up 3lb for a defeat by the 9 year old Cirrus Des Aigles in France. That rating is wrong IMO, he's at best a 117 horse now and he may be a little worse than that, might be better on heavy ground where other horses can't handle it.

At least Al Kazeem retains the enthusiasm to win which is kinda priceless.

I remember a horse called Environment friend who mixed stud duties with racing for a few years. Solid enough horse, he won a Dante and Eclipse as a 3yo but never won another race between then and his retirement as a 7yo with 2 seconds in the Coronation Cup his best form in 21 runs between 4 and 7 years old.

Equally he's 7yrs old so you'd expect him to regress. Moving the discussion about what he beat matters little. He has come back, bagged a Grp 3, then a Grp 2 and now a Grp 1 at age 7. I'd say he's quite enjoying his hay this evening with €155,000 stacked in cash beside him in his stable.

Didn't pull the trigger on TGG thankfully - very labored performance from him and doesn't look the horse he was last season. Still delighted to see Al Kazeem win it though.

Al Kazeem has to be one of the most under rated horses in training. I think last year was a bit of a write off for him and he didn't really show his best in his first few races back which is understandable as he was coming back out of retirement. He will be a tough nut to crack in the likes of the Eclipse, King George etc. lovely animal with a really likeable attitude. Roger Charlton has done a superb job with him.
