    Have my provisional, have to get my own car to get insured , would I be able to insured under my dads name and he can stay on his own car too?

    Not afaik. When I bought my first car AXA stipulated the car be insured under my name, but my now late Loving Dad was eligible to drive it when needed. My Dad was already the named primary driver on his own car so could not be primary named driver on two.

    I currently have two cars registered under my name, only one is being used though. If I wanted to drive the second car I would have to swap my insurance cover over to that reg and could only do that once.

    Perhaps ring the insurance provider and ask them,
