First Year Accommodation

    I'm hoping to go to NUIG in September but when I applied for accommodation in corrib village where I want to stay it said it was full and placed on a waiting list. NUIG is my first choice on my CAO and I'm pretty confident I'll get the points for the course. If I'm on the waiting list and I'm offered a place on the course should I be ready to book a room immediately on the morning the results come out?

    I'm going to NUIG next year too (hopefully!). The demand for accommodation is usually pretty high, I book in February, so you should try to request a room as soon as possible after getting your place, as far as I know it goes by who emails first so do it as soon after you get the results as you can :)
    Good luck!

    Could anyone help me out here, I'm hoping to be going to nuig in September and have planned to be seeking on campus accommodation at corroborating village but I hear it is very strict on geusts? I understand you need your student id after nine and so on but what happens if you have a friend who wants to stay for the weekend or anything ? Is it difficult to get past security and all that? Any help would be greatly appreciated :):)

    "Corroborating" :pac:
    I wouldn't worry too much about that... You can sign friends in at times through reception but if you're worried about Corrib and having friends stay over you could look at private accommodation in houses in estates nearby or other student accommodation like Menlo park.

    Actually there's security from 6pm. There is another way to get past security up until 7pm - you'll figure it out very quickly. Generally they'd know who is or isn't from Corrib after a few months.
