I invested in a company but my stocks are only worth 5% what they were. MY original question was if i should invest again (at what i hope is their bottom). I did.

Wow that's a huge loss. Must have been a company with a lot of debt? How did you choose your second investment?

I don't have any real knowledge of the industry, so i took a gamble. I bought in close to drilling time, they didn't strike oil so it plummeted. They are now relocated and drilling in the future, so i am in early in the hope of getting my money back pre drill.

Well at least they are not bust so maybe you have some hope. You took a gamble and unluckily for you it didn't pay off, but the odds are always against well drilling an exploration well. Hopefully it will come through this time.

Are they relocating to another area close by?
Have they done new seismic studies to re evaluate since the last well was drilled?

They may have gained enough information on the original drilling to re evaluate all the information and if drilling in the same
area realistically they should have a better chance but again its still high risk as with all oil exploratory wells.

    Best of luck
