Obviously Vancouver and Toronto are the two hot emigration spots, and we've also got some other city-specific threads, so I thought it might be a nice idea to have a thread for some of the other and/or smaller towns and cities that people might have moved to/are looking to move to/are interested in visiting.

To get the ball rolling, Hi! I'm Michael. I spent the last two years in Vancouver, and just moved to Victoria a few weeks ago to live with my girlfriend after a stint of semi-long distance. It's lovely here, and reminds me of home a lot more than Vancouver. I was never really looking to be reminded of home, but now that I'm here, it is a nice feeling. I'm from Dublin, but Victoria is a bit more Galway-ish.

    How about yourselves?

    Nice one!
I was in NYC last year and met a young couple living in Regina, and they hated it!
They couldn't wait to get back to Ireland. It's nice to hear some good news out of that province :P

In Smiths Falls, Ontario. About 50-60mins outside Ottawa. Been out here 2 and a half years, trying to decide if I want to apply for permanent residency or not before work permit runs out in 2016

In Niagara Falls, Ontario but I work in St Catharines. I've been here 2 years, I'm staying to travel a bit in the summer then head home in September. But if anyone has any questions or wants any info on the Niagara Region I'll do my best to help!

Just 10 minutes from ya, between Smiths Falls and Perth! Out here since March, only got a 12 month permit and was advised to get an extension/PR application in ASAP

I'm in Keremeos in the similkameen valley. Been from Ontario to Vancouver and never found a gem like this. I'm surrounded by mountains here and a really positive community but just like a small town at home, it has its difficulties. Has more to offer than anywhere I've ever seen without having anything too luxurious.

If your even near K Mountain I recommend stopping.

I'm picking fruit/construction/whatever. Camping with 50 others on crown land....a river bed. Different but excellent.

In Halifax, Nova Scotia for the past 2 years, I'm generally pretty settled here, I got PR a couple of months ago so it looks like I'm here for a while. Winters have been a bit grim but the summers make up for it. Love the outdoor life here though, there is so much to do.

What's Kelowna like, would you recommend it as a good spot to live for a while?

Ya, I think it's worth giving it a go for a while. If you're into very hot sunny weather it's the place for you.
There are a fair few beaches around the lake too, and the town attracts a lot of people this time of year.
There are also a lot of wineries and vineyards in the area and if you've an interest in outdoor activities it's well worth a visit. The nightlife is pretty good too....go for it!

I'm in Vancouver but I did an interview in Saskatoon last year, I liked the place but didn't get the job. Good to hear you like SK

I love Keremeos. People wouldn't believe it's in Canada.
