As far as I'm aware there is very limited if any microlight training in Munster.

His best option, depending on where he lives would most likely be a PPL.

If you're close to Waterford, you should give Waterford Aero Club a shout. I highly recommend them. Prices are extremely competitive, membership is cheap compared to most clubs around the country and the level of instruction is great.

Plus, as far as I'm aware with new legislation you can fly Microlights with a Private Pilots License (SEP Rating) without the need for further training if you manage to find one in your area.
