My Audi was wrote off 2 weeks ago, insurance company phoned me last night to offer me 3600 for the car thou IMO its worth 5. Going by same year and make/model they are selling for between 4k and 5.5k but I pit a value on mine of 5 and that's going by donedeal, Gumtree etc.... If I was to price from trade, it would be easy in the 5k plus. If they've offered me 3.6k and I've told them where to go, realistically what kind offer will they come back with?

Back it up. I used the vrt calculator to give them the OMSP, take a few screenshots of the ads which closest match your car. If you hold firm they'll probably pay your asking, you're not a million miles away with your valuations.

Didn't you buy it for €3800?

Insured my Audi for 4000 after buying it for 3800 on dondeal. Got hit 6 weeks after insuring and there's 5800 worth the damage! Just found out market value of car is 5800 and car is now a financial right off but just waiting on word back from insurance company to confirm it all. I've now been getting conflicting information relating to my pay out. Some are saying because I'm claiming of another parties insurance and because they've admitted liability, I'll get the market value payout however others are saying I now won't even get the full 4k payout I insured it for because I under valued the car.

It was written off though ?

Have you worked repairs and the loss of market value of a car that's been crash repaired though into your valuation ?

And its not what one pays for a car, I could have bought it for 1€ of a family member but worth a lot more than that. Same Cars selling for between 4k-5.5k so I should at least get the 5k to compensate me to get same car. This car was immaculate!

Seems odd to value it at €4k then.

Utter stupidity to under value on policy as chances are you were not even saving anything on the premium by doing that.

That's if your claiming of your own policy, if claiming of someone else, you can get the market value!!

You made a silly mistake yet you don't seem to Want to accept that.
While you could get market value when the claim is being paid from the other side but on what grounds can you argue that their valuation is too low when it is similar to your own valuation when you bought the car and similar to price paid for the car.
To be honest, I'd be very happy to get my money back in a situation such as yours.

Car was bought from friend undervalued! Same car to buy is a lot more expensive than what I paid for this. I won't be able to get same type car now after crash and I'm now left with a cheaper car. Forget about what I insured it for, its not unreasonable to think I should get the money to buy same car

Good luck with the insurance company. I hope they can't pick your lies apart as easily.

YOU valued the car at €4k for YOUR insurance policy. If you knew you wouldn't get the same spec or condition car for €4k then you should have valued it higher. You can't expect (and they won't) pay you more than the value YOU put on the car yourself. It is totally unreasonable to expect more for something you valued less than what it would cost to replace.

You can forget about what you insured it for and argue your point with everyone and anyone here but the insurance company won't forget the price you valued it at so your wasting your time trying to convince people otherwise.

    Doubt that dude.
Just because you think it's worth 5, doesn't make it worth 5. Sounds like your mate you bought it from got a better deal than you thought...
But to be honest, this sounds like a windup, hope it is

Bit of a bad move. You might be looking for advice in the future, no-one is gonna be rushing to help out then.
