Matchplay handicap through the year

    So I entered the annual rounds of matchplay championships in the club this year, both singles and fourballs. And I think theres another singles for which I have to qualify on a Sunday some time soon, top 16 on the day qualify to enter.

    Question is what handicap do I play with in these comps throughout the year? Are cuts applied once the matchplay year has started within the competition?
    Do I simply play every match with whatever handicap I happen to be on at the time, all cuts and .1s applied? Or do I play through the entire competition (which may only last 1 match in each case of course) with a frozen handicap? Like handicap on day of signing into comp? Handicap on day of first match?

    Check with club as mine has done both. Used to be frozen on qualifying day but is now current, which is much fairer IMHO
