Renewing Learner Permit?

    Really hoping someone can help me here!

    Got a letter today to say my (first) learners permit will expire next month. They sent me the forms which is helpful but I cannot for the life of me figure out if I need to get a medical cert? It says that you need one to apply, but it doesn't say whether you need one if you're only renewing.

    Also, will I receive any kind of cert or letter from the person in the NDLS office to say that my licence is being renewed? I don't know how long it takes to get the new one and I don't want to be nabbed driving with no licence, or not to be allowed to drive until it arrives!

    If you have any of the medical conditions listed on the application form, then you need a medical cert from a doctor stating that you are fit to drive. If you don't have any of them & didn't provide a medical cert when you got your first leaner permit, then don't worry about it.

    You'll be given a receipt showing that you have applied for a new learner permit. It will be posted out to you in about two weeks.
