Just looking for an idea of the fee charged by a Solicitor for :-

    1. The sale of existing house
    2. Purchase of new house

    Any ideas ?

How long is a piece of string.

Is it registered title, burdened, auction, private sale, right of residence, is title clean, fractured, possessory, probate. Is it registry of deeds, subject to easements, rights of way, etc etc

Its like asking how much is a delivery, or surgery, or a guitar.

    It depends.

If you want cheap. You get cheap service. Like everything.

Why people pay hundreds of thousands for a house and cheap out on the solicitor i will never understand.
