Just to make 100% sure - sending it with registered post won't cause any delays or something f.e because someone needs to take time to sign for the postman?

Swiftpost is tracked online and is next working day delivery. No signature is needed unless you pay extra.

6 quid for a letter though.

Yes, but it's not really about how fast delivery is, but what I need is assurance that letter won't be lost and will reach destination, so signature on receiving registererd mail letter would be great.

I dont think you live in Dublin but I went down last month to change ownership of my car and they did it there and then. Next day I went back to put it back in my name and they did it there and then again.

Was unexpected bonus as I thought I would be waiting a couple of weeks via posting to Shannon

Where did you go - motortax office?
Do they have facility for issuing VRCs?
I though it had to go through Shannon anyway.

You can pay an extra 2 euro for a signature.

The non-signed-for option has proof of delivery online.

Either is next working day delivery or money back.

Think there's normal registered post with a signature too, not used that recently though.

To be fair, we have a highly reliable postal service in this country, in spite of the lack of post codes(changing as we speak). Very little actually goes missing/undelivered. I'm sure someone will come along with the " an post lost my letter with a big cheque" story, but it is really very dependable.
If you decide to go registered then someone at the front desk in Shannon will sign as it would be part of their job I would imagine.

I know An Post is very reliable and efficient, and never in my life I had any letter go missing, but just to be 100% I would prefer to do it with registered post, as this case is really in 100% need of delivery as if document went missing, I'd have a huge problem.

You should hand deliver it if you are having doubts about an post delivery. The only things that go missing in the post are speeding fines or similar apparently.

    Can you do that?
Can you hand deliver it to office in Shannon?

I'll actually be in Shannon on Monday so I could do that.

There has to be a reception there, if you are going to Shannon anyway this is your best solution.

    I don't see why not.
I'm sure the postman has access to at least a letterbox......and you would know that it's reached it's destination.

Not much else you can do once it's definitely delivered to them.
