4pm tomorrow is the official time I believe, but realistically , when will we know or have a very good idea?

Not quite the same but the exit poll from minutes after the polls closed in the UK called it to within a few seats.

Once the tallies have a look. The exit polls are prone to allow people to lie. The tallies don't. They really just need to see how it's going in specific places, like for example South Tipp where a high No vote would be expected (though not guaranteed) and likewise high Yes constituencies. They are very good at working patterns out. Early afternoon or so.

I don't think the exit polls will be a good guide in this case. Lots of people could indicate that they voted one way when they actually voted the other.

Counting begins at 9am tomorrow, and they're expecting the first tallies between 11 and 12 apparently.
