My mother sold her (PPR) back in 09. I need to get confirmation of this but the solicitor who completed the sale has gone out of business and transferred her undertakings to another local solicitor.

Would they be able to give me a letter stating when the house was sold or who would I need to contact

If you know the address the land registry will have a copy of the folio whic could evidence the transfer depending on what you need to prove exactly

Just need to know the date of the sale but would need it certified. Would the solicitor who took over the business have those details

The land registry may have the original deed of transfer and you could take up a certified copy or the solicitor who took over may have the deeds.

    Just call them

Ideally, you would want a copy of the contract. This may still be on the old file, which appears to have been taken over by a new solicitor. You should contact this new solicitor.
