Looking to borrow a Samsung Galaxy S4

Hi all, my Galaxy S4 fell and lcd+digitizer broke. Phone boots but I cannot access anything.
Long story short, I need to borrow another Galaxy S4 (i9505), open it and connect only the lcd to mine so I can see what is happening.
Opening it is easy and there will be no damage to your phone.

My idea is to meet at a pub - I'll keep the pints coming while I work on it and hopefully manage to transfer my data.

    Anyone for free pints?

have you tried connecting to PC via usb and see if you can get data that way?

the phone might show up depending on what its ste as MTP or Camera

Yes, tried everything. It will not show up, plus, it is pattern locked and it's not registered with Samsung's remote unlock.

I need the digitizer too, so I can enter the pattern. I've already googled all the alternatives, and this one I am proposing is the fastest and cheapest. As long as someone agrees.

There is a way to mirror the screen and control it from a PC, but you need to have USB debugging enabled. If not, you need to enter recovery and set something there, can't remember exactly. Have the same problem with a Note. I'll get the details when I'm back home.

BTW, I found it on XDA. Searched "access n7000 with dead screen" or something along those lines.

I've read about mirroring it, but usb debugging is not enabled.
I don't think I read about the recovery mode one.

Well hopefully I'll get a reply from paconnors, but in the meantime:

Free pints OR the equivalent in money for those pints at a rate of, say, 1 pint per half an hour, for however long it takes me to finish (first pint should be an actual one though, since we're gonna be in a pub).

    here's what I want to do: techglen.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/4h31wwW.jpg
    here's how to open an S4: youtu.be/zm4f2XjQLAM?t=64
basically what needs to be done is remove loudspeaker and remove rear casing. that's it.
