Hi all! Any thoughts on the following:

Serving DP applies for DP position in another school. Two leadership postgraduates completed, excellent references. Good reputation as a hard and effective worker. Post advertised only on line not in paper. Fails to get short listed for position. Others have been shortlisted and although excellent candidates do not have experience or qualifications. ( Looking at things from a purely shortlisting perspective, particularly if using JMB shortlisting criteria. I am not implying that courses make anyone any better for the position). Any thoughts?

Secondly, thoughts on asking for feedback from selection committee on same?

    Thanks in advance

In my experience (Primary Level) the Principal more or less has complete backing of BOM for almost all decisions and he/she will appoint and make shortlists as he or she wishes. The notion that the BOM system is fair is laughable.

You were probably too well qualified and the Principal knew that if you were interviewed he/she would have to give you the job ahead of his/her favoured person.
