    Hey guys,

Long story short, my car is out of diesel and will not start for me this morning. I feel like an idiot, especially because I have no petrol can to fill, just wondering if anybody knows do they sell these at petrol stations?? Like topaz and the like??

I know it may seem like a silly question, but I've never been in this situation before and I'm extremely embarrassed!

    Thanks for any replies

The one time I got caught out, the nearest Topaz had one and they didn't bend me over for it either.
Only 5 or 6 yoyos - in a situation like that they could well ask double!

Got it sorted lads, but now the stupid yoke won't start, battery looks to be dead :( getting a jump is no bother but can't get the bonnet open. It's a 01 seat Leon, has happened before but one of the lads managed to open it for me after an hour of trying, any tips??? NCT in Clare tomorrow and I'm here in Galway city now, badly stuck

It may not be (just) a battery problem, but you're gonna need that bonnet opening anyway.
Could it be airlocked after running out of diesel?

I'm unsure, but what has me thinking it's the battery is the fact that I tried to start it a good few times this morning and no joy, and when I put the diesel in, it seemed as if it was going to start only for your typical dead battery signs. This morning dash lights would come on, not now

Would air locking be very serious???

Shouldn't be a big problem. Good luck.

Thank you! Still no luck with the bonnet, and on googling, seems to be a very common and frustrating problem with them.

Is it not turning over? If it is some engines need you to prime the diesel filter in order to get the fuel back in to the system when you have run out.

It isn't turning over anymore, just seems completely dead, the battery has been troublesome before. Very silly on my part letting it run out if diesel, I've never done it before. Just gonna go back out and stay trying the bonnet. Please god I get it open and I'll try and jump it tonight, fingers crossed but having no luck with the bonnet at all.

    Thanks for the help lads
