    Hi all

Pricing kitchens for new build and I love the look of Inframe Painted Kitchens in Ivory/Cream with a mix of Quartz & Walnut on Island.

I got few different quotes and was wondering is it worth the extra few grand for inframe? I got quoted 11,500 for normal hand painted kitchen from reputable kitchen fitter and it's extra 2,900 to upgrade to inframe. I love the look of them but it's alot of money plus we have to get utility room, appliances quartz & dresser on top of that so it will be 20k plus.

I got dearer quotes and above price is cheapest.

I'm based in North West, any suggestions really appreciated.

Kitchen Cabinets are made up of two parts; the carcass and the door. Most stock kitchen carcasses are now made from melamine faced chipboard (MFC). Stock carcasses made from 18mm MFC are more durable than 12-15mm versions. Semi-custom cabinets offer more options and extras than stock items but still tend to be manufactured in standard sizes and design. Price wise they are middle of the road and their lead-in time is normally 8-12 weeks. As the name suggests custom cabinets are constructed to your particular specification and so the choice of finishes and options are limitless. This type of cabinet is the most expensive and can take up to 16 weeks to be delivered.

With most kitchens the doors are hung off the carcass but with in-frame kitchens the doors are fitted to a solid timber frame built around the carcass. This type of kitchen is said to be much more durable than the standard method of kitchen construction. Good quality cabinets have their corners reinforced for durability
