eircom eFibre VDSL DHCP: quickly get new IP address

I'll pay €100 to anyone who can fix this problem for me.

I need to quickly get a new IP every now and then for my business, to avoid being identified by Google as I'm permanently banned from uploading Android apps (inb4 people moralising, Google will ban you for anything on Android, read some posts online)

Originally I used some public VPN and proxy services but these send too many signals and Google are too good at this stuff. I have to get a safe consumer IP from eircom's or UPC's IP pool. Originally I released and renewed IP on my parents' eircom ADSL connection and that worked great and I got a new IP straight away. But my parents have since cancelled that connection.

Then I tried using dialup again but it's just too slow and unreliable to upload 5megabyte apps.

So I'm stuck with my own eFibre VDSL connection. It seems to have sticky IPs so I only get a new IP if I turn off the VDSL modem for an hour and connect again. This is just too long to wait for me. I assume the stickiness works by identifying the mac address of the VDSL modem. Does anyone know if I can buy a VDSL router that lets me send a custom MAC address to eircom so I can somehow get the eircom DHCP server to give me a new address? I contacted eircom support a few times and they've no answers. Again, I'll paypal €100 to anyone who can fix this for me or tell me the right router to buy to fix it.

It's the vectoring that slows it, the cabs and eVDSL without vectoring sync as quick as ADSL. Don't think there's anything you can do, it'll always take 2-3 mins to sync

thanks for the reply. i don't think i have vectoring. my eircom speed is 70Megabit down and I'm in the centre of town. anyway the 2-3 minute sync is no problem, i can easily wait that long. problem is i always have the same sticky IP if i re-connect unless i wait exactly an hour before reconnecting. so it's obviously some setting on the DHCP server.

i've to wait an hour to get new IP, do my upload then disconnect and wait another hour to get another clean IP. it's just not sustainable though I am doing it in the short-term

Have you tried swapping modem, do you get the same ip then? May be worth getting your hands on a second

Nothing to do with vectoring, you're way off the ball here mass. Think 1 layer up.

If you setup PPPoE Georgie instead of IPoE you should lease off the pool directly, not a local proxy, and a PPPoE - UserReq call will cause you to refresh within 30 seconds or so. As long as you dont have eircom TV.

Not that I necessarily agree with what you're doing.

It takes many times longer to sync everywhere vectoring is turned on.

any pointers on broadband settings on the f1000 modem that'll connect me with PPPoE? i tried a few settings, basically guessing stuff and didn't connect unsurprisingly

You need to bridge it and add your own router and set it on that

    Nope again.

Change your VDSL wan from IPoE to PPP and enter the default eircom details.

i can't believe it, it worked! the amount of crap i tried since November 2014 and it was this easy to get a new IP.
here's everything I did for posterity:

Go to Network Setting -> Broadband and 'Add New WAN Interface'

    General
Name: VDSLPPPoE (or give it some other descriptive name)
    Type: ADSL/VDSL over PTM
    Mode: Routing
    Encapsulation: PPPoE
    IPv6/IPv4 Mode: IPv4 Only

    PPP Information
    PPP User Name: eircom@eircom.net
    PPP Password: broadband1
    PPP Trigger Type: Auto Connect
    IDLE Timeout [minutes]: 5
    PPPoE Passthrough : Unchecked
IP Address Obtain an IP Address Automatically

    Routing Feature
    NAT Enable : Checked
    Fullcone NAT Enable : Unchecked
    IGMP Proxy Enable : Unchecked
Apply as Default Gateway : Unchecked

    DNS server
    DNS : Static
    DNS Server 1 : 159.134.0.1
    DNS Server 2 : 159.134.0.2

    Tunnel
    Enable 6RD : Disable

    VLAN
    Active : Checked
    802.1p : 0
    802.1q : 10

    QoS
WAN Outgoing Default Tag : Disable

    MTU
    MTU Size : 1492

this gives you a new PPPoE connection so set it to active and deactivate the default VDSL interface. wait while the f1000 does its stuff and go back to connection status, it should be a new IP address. if you need a new IP again, disconnecting and connecting on PPPoE sometimes gives a new address but sometimes not. what always works is going back to IPoE and then back to PPPeE.

I do all this in a VMWare machine with my main host machine blocked with the F1000 Security -> MAC Filter feature. works great.

if you dont have evision log onto your modem and set your wan encapsulation to PPPoE and use eircom@eircom.net as username and broadband1 as password. set mtu size to 1492 and save.

everytime you reboot the modem you will get a new ip address

Is there any advantage in using one connection type over the other? I'm using PPPoE atm and pages seem to load more quickly but maybe it's just my imagination.

    Where's the 100 euro for ED E?

Only difference might be if you set static DNS. Other than that it should be a TINY bit slower, but not noticeably.
