    i have got a job with the gateway scheme Dublin city council rang me yesterday and said id be working 5 days a week in a homework club from 2 until 6.. as i left school early and im very shy this is something i would not be comfortable with doing ive told them this and im waiting for a call back to discuss the matter can they actually make me do something im not comfortable doing i said id do anything else but that.. also its in Santry and i live in Dublin ? so 4 buses everyday at 2.85 each way makes no sense as i only get an extra twenty on this scheme Can anyone give me any advice

    Can anyone that has done the gateway work scheme or doing it now give me an answer that would be great as i dont know what to do. thanks

    First thoughts would be that a Homework Club wouldn't be something limited by shyness. Have seen Homework Club in operation in one place I was working and it looked to me to be more a helping-hand bystanding set-up? Not being intentionally offensive or in-sensitive, but if ya were helping the kids there, wouldn't it be in a sort-of one-to-one scenario with each of their homework on an individual basis, sooooo, to be honest I think ya should give it a try! : ) And I know I don't even know the first thing about ya, but in fact, I would go so far as to say ya might actually like it due to it not being limited because you're shy! :) With that said, if you really feel ya can't I would hope they would have other roles that you might be interested in.
