    Hi there.

Has anyone visited either or both of these salons, and if so would you recommend them?

    Simones of Sligo

    Graceful Occasions

Or are there any others close to Sligo town that you recommend?

    Many thanks :)

Hi! Simones is very good! But there is one lady there who I had once and I thought she was crap. The other 2 times I had 2 foreign girls who were fantastic! And their stock is very nice.

However, I ended up getting my dress from Dinagh modes in Castlerea. I can't recommend them enough. Pamela the owner is amazing. All the other bridal stores told me to go and pick out dresses I liked and try them on. But as soon as I walked into Dinagh Modes, Pamela looked at me, pulled a dress off the rail and told me to try it on. I wasn't sure about it, but when I tried it on I totally fell in love with it. She has this amazing way of knowing exactlt what will look perfect on you by the shape of your figure. She also does all the alterations herself and hand made my full length veil.

    Happy shopping!

There's a new one in sligo after opening. Not sure of name but castle Dargan were recommending them if you check their facebook. Loves legacy in dromohair is good too. Look up padanee bridal in Carrick, gorgeous dresses.

I dislike Simones personally as they have been incredibly rude to deal with on many occasions. Their stock is nice is the only reason they are open cos they are known for not being friendly

I've tried two places in Sligo recently - Simones and Lamelia.

Simones has a great range (they stock Maggie Sottero dresses which is what I was mainly interested in). I'd heard from a number of people that they are pushy and prepared myself for that, but to be honest the girl who dealt with us was lovely.

Also tried Lamelia in Beltra (out the Ballina Road past Ballisodare). Smaller range but some really lovely dresses. Highly recommend here - you get the full tea/coffee/chocolates experience and the owner could not be more helpful. She's also not pushy at all. My favourite dress (and the one that I'm buying!) was actually one that she picked out for me - I didn't choose it myself.

There is also a place that I spotted just off Mail Coach Road somewhere. Didn't go in (found the dress so job done) so I can't report on it.

There's also McElhinnies in Donegal or Elegant Touch in Castlebar (never been to either). No bridal shops at all in Ballina anymore - the last one is closing down and there's very little stock left. We called in and it wasn't worth the journey.
