    Hi All,

Getting the dreaded DMF failure symptoms in my Mondeo so have been ringing around for quotes to do the work. Had a similar issue with a Passat before with the all in cost of about €600 so was expecting approx the same.

€1200 to do the work (have a few quotes and this is the cheapest), with an extra €150 if the bearing is also gone!!!

Anyone else with experience doing/or having the work done to their Mondeo??

Looking to see what sort of quotes you got etc.

The 1.8 diesel is different so it wouldn't be a good comparison.

    Thanks all.

Anyone who suggests doing a clutch and flywheel without doing the bearing you would be better off steering clear of because sure as anything it will be gone in six months.
If you tell us where you are someone may point you in the right direction.

If your car is like mine (Alfa 159) and I think it is  the whole front subframe needs to be removed to change the clutch.
So labour is a huge portion of the price.

I can't afford for it to break any sooner :D

It's the first car I've had that after over 12 months of ownership I still walk up to and think "that's a cool car"

Apologies for posting this in the wrong place originally.

So, surprisingly, its the main dealer which has come up the cheapest at €1200, and are the ones suggesting that the bearing may or may not need changing!!

I have one or two places left to ring for quotes but after that I'm talking €1450 + from independent garages.

I'm living in the south east of the country.

    Cheers everyone.
