My Fiance and I are trying to find a wedding location in Cork but are getting really confused with all the fluff they have on their pages!
We want to get married in County House as neither of us are into big hotel weddings. We will have between 95/110 guest.
Any advice from Brides or guests who attended would be really helpful.

Congrats to you and ye!!! Many happy days planning to ye..

Right well where abouts in Cork are you looking for, do ye have an area or how far ye would like to travel..

We are having ours this year eccck in kinda the same style...Renting a place for the weekend.

What are ye having trouble with regarding the "fluff" is it all the extras etc..

I found when looking a few things that we came across was

Check if you are charged extra for things like power/etc
Check if there is a min booking for any accommodation provided. For example like some places you book out the entire venue and it is up to ye if ye charge or how much ye charge for the rooms. Others you book the venue and the place will charge for the rooms, or they will charge you and then you must charge the guest. This is one to defiantly look out for as some places charge a lot for guests to stay and you might be well out of pocket.
Do they have a supplier list you can work from, for recommendations.
Are there enough bathrooms there for that amount of guests, and easy accessible. Might seem silly but if grannies are going it makes sense.

There are so many things, but not that many if you get me...

Thanks Milly, that would be great.
I had been at a family friend's in Barnabrow last year and Love it. But because we are a close family, it wouldn't be possible for us to have our wedding there. But it's something like there we would thinking about.
As regards the fluff lol, they are not going to put testimonials says they weren't the best. I would like family to start in the house or VERY close to it.
So any feedback would be great 😀

I see I see, well with the fluff side.

I don't have the book here with me, haha my best friend for ideas but off the top of my head for like a country house place

    Ther is

Ballymaloe which is close to Barnabrow but they are very pricey indeed very very

Ballyvolane House is lovely too - very nice, only downfall is there isn't that many rooms there and people would have to travel in a taxi or bus to the venue and back which would be a good 15mins to the nearest accommodation.

Farren House too but again you are stuck with accommodation

There is a lovely place just off the bypass road in Mitchelstown Ill look up the name again for you
Ballincurra House in Kinsale - lovely again bit more pricey and this is one of the places that catch you with the rooms charges.

The Mills Inn in Ballyvourney is a nice surprise - very good prices, it isn't a country house but you do have the space to the side of the hotel, there is a back room there so you are away from the main area, they have rooms..

Then of course you have Blackwater Castle - which to me is just great but I am bias. I can come back and give you feedback after August

Temple Michael is another beautiful spot but pricey

A few questions ye could go through to get a better idea of what ye would like is to see do ye want a place with a restaurant on site, or do ye want to bring in caterers, and the budget, and do ye want a place for the weekend..
