Sold an item on Done Deal - Buyer ignoring me and hasn't paid me.

I sold an item to a buyer on Done Deal last week. I posted the item and I have the receipt.

The buyer had supposedly sent me a postal order for the amount but I haven't received it.

I have messaged them through Done Deal several times and they have not replied to me at all, not even to confirm they had received the item from me.

I have emailed Done Deal and I am awaiting a reply.

Apart from having the buyer's name and address, is there anything I can do or that Done Deal can do?

    Hi Tom,

I've just done a quick search on DD
Do not hand over goods until having received full payment.
    Here

How much are we talking, because I think you are probably going to have to put it down to experience.

    All the best

€40. So annoyed. They said they had sent the postal cheque so I just posted. They didn't have PayPal which I normally only ever accept. I did have two postal cheque buyers in the past and both were perfect.

What would you do? I feel like just hassling them with messages non-stop.

Well could have been a lot worse. You've learnt an unpleasant lesson my friend.

I'd be careful with Paypal too. There is a well publicised scam with Paypal that is technically quite simple.

What would I do? Probably nothing, after I'd calmed down. I'm guessing but I'm probably quite a bit older and far more concerned about my personal safety. You have his address, so I'm guessing he has yours too ......

You could try reporting it to the Gards, you never know. But if half that we hear about Gards manning levels and morale is true I wouldn't bank on that avenue.

    All the best ;)
