Can you split power between two generators to run a catering van? If I used a 16amp plug splitter to each generator? Thank you

Using a splitter as you described would be very dangerous. (probably wouldn't work anyway as the generators shouldn't be connected unless designed for parallel operation)

So the answer is NO it's too dangerous.

Split the loads if you can. Two isolated feeds.

Widow-maker (2 plugs, one socket). No!

    Paralleling gensets is very difficult.

You could get a G10 sync panel, but it would be expensive. You'd need to match the frequency, phase angle and magnitude of the two outputs into a single uniform supply
