    Fellas,
A friend is planning a conservatory/sunroom. He intends using vertical rads. I think underfloor heating is less obtrusive but can it be linked to a conventional boiler/radiator setup. ? How do you get over the lower temperatures required for underfloor heating ?

    cheers.

Incorporate a TMV in the UF circuit via motorised valve as in a separate zone. Hot water from boiler is mixed with cool water to provide the 30-50c required. The rest of the system runs at 80c as normal. I am sure kits are available from dedicated suppliers but cheaper to do it yourself if you are handy with plumbing and screeding. You will need more than one circuit for a big room so may need balancing manifold but I have nearly 500 sq ft. with 3 circuits of equal length back to simple manifold without any kind of valve balancing and one motorised valve after a mixer valve. Works a treat. Good quality porcelain tiles make it a more effective system with good heat distribution and retention. Make sure there are no draughts in windows and doors.

    Something like this:

That's great, thanks for the reply.
As long as I know it is possible in theory I'll start researching.

    cheers.
