    Hi guys,

Not sure if this is correct forum.

I tried t find some info online, but could not find anything relevant.

on 30th of March I have signed papers in court (I am a victim of car accident), but received no payment as my solicitor and defending side can not agree on their own fees.

This case was open for over 2 years now.

Is there any time frame of when I should get my compensation because I have no clear answer from my solicitor, except "should not take too long".

It was serious accident (not my fault) and I had operation, they had to take a full disc out of my spine.

Just wonder if there is something legal of how long it should take after papers signed and compensation agreed.

Thank you very much in advance.

It often takes six weeks for a cheque to arrive after settlement has been reached.

You can ask your solicitor to send a shirty letter threatening to issue proceedings for breach of contract unless the cheque is received immediately.

Thank you very much Pat Mustard.

I wasn't sure what are my rights on this one, I was promised to get the cheque in 10 days when I signed it and I feel they are fooling around.

My solicitor also messed up and I had 2 choices - sue them and get more money (but that would take another year or two) or take less money now. Due to mortgage etc I agreed on smaller amount, I just feel there was no point doing so as I am still waiting.

    I will email then now.

Thanks a lot again for finding time to answer.

    Have a good day,

    Anna
