When choosing the helmet do you consider how it looks on your head ?

    Yes.

    For two reasons:
    1) fit and comfort
    2) vanity as per your question

    Yep,

I only wear one when racing or when required by an event. I got my current one on the basis it was light, cheap and apparently does not look as much like a Mushroom as previous ones.

My search for a "better looking" helmet continues then...

I think the pros pull off helmet wearing with aplomb

nope, cant see it, so out of sight out of mind.

Weight and ventilation are the slightly bigger issues for me. my earlier helmets had looked good but were too warm. My current one is nice, light although the padding is not the best (I got a Planet X white one)

I have to say the Kask Mojito is hands down the most comfortable and best looking helmet I've ever had.....

If I wore one, I would probably give some thought to how it looked. Not in terms of wanting to look good, but rather not wanting to look outlandish. I think this is a perfectly human desire.

    Ive a kask 50nta and bambino...can't beat'em!

Wouldn't give it a second thought, as long as it looks like a fairly normal bike helmet (so no POC tempor). Ventilation and lightweight my main concerns.

I have to say my Kask was the first helmet I ever bought that didn't feel like it was perched on top of my head like a mushroom, it felt more like it was surrounding my head, like a helmet should.

A boarsdie even said "Nice helmet" to me once. That was in the pub later on though, so I can't be certain he was referring to the Kask.

Please be very careful when using the phrase 'pros pull off helmet'.

There's always an element of vanity in a helmet choice. Anyone who says otherwise is lying to either themselves or you, or both.

TLD for the vanity win ;)

I like the KASK ones as they seem to disguise the mushroom effect for my abnormal sized noggin but I did find them quite warm.

My 8yr old limar helmet is size M, but a lot of newest helmets in medium will not fit me and the Large one are way too awkward looking.
