Whirlpool AWZ 510 E washer/dryer - staying on End

After a wash, the light stays on End and when this happens, no other buttons work - pressing them results in no lights changing or anything happening.
The problem is intermittent, with no apparent pattern to when it happens.
Switching it on/off seems to make no difference.

I've seen other posts about this both here and on other sites - it seems to be a popular enough problem with this model - but nowhere seems to have a definite or even consistent solution. Plenty of try this and have a go at that.

So before I have a go at each and every trick that is recommended across the word wide web, am just wondering is there any way of rounding it down as to whether its an electronic issue or a mechanical issue? Or is it even an issue that simply cannot be solved? At least if I knew it was an issue with the electronics, then I could maybe check switches and buttons etc. without tearing out pipes and stuff - rented apartment, so the less holes I put in the walls, the better!

The fact that it actually washes and dries sometimes, would that mean that all the pipes, filters etc. are fine and that it is a problem with the electronics/switches?

I am not familiar with that particular model but you could check the inlet water filter, it needs to be clean and ideally be on mains pressure because water is needed during the drying process to get rid of steam, check the pump filter as well, also check the waste hose where it enters the standpipe, it needs to be a loose fit and shouldnt be pushed down further than the top of the door height.if it is module related try holding the start button in for up to 10 secs. to bring it back to default, otherwise I would think its a dodgy Chinese module
