I made a claim for 2014 approx. two weeks ago and it looks like I'm due money back. However I'm still waiting and have seen nothing in my bank account. I seem to remember this happening a lot quicker before. Is this normal for it to take so long to process a request?

Normally if a refund is due, it is lodged to your bank account within 5 working days. If your P21 says a refund is due and nothing has come by now, I'd contact Revenue. A portion of all claims are selected for manual verification which will slow things down.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I got a P21 but it doesn't seem to indicate the same refund as PAYE Anytime showed me. I got quite a bit back in past years and the only major change in 2014 was higher rent in my new house. I have an accountant friend I think I'll bug on the weekend as I really don't get this.

What is indicated on page one of the P21 is the actual refund due. Page 2 is how it was ccalculated. The rent tax credit has been dropping for years so refunds for 2014 would have been less that 2013 and so on.
You may have also received the benefit of the rent tax credit through your wages in 2014 as once claimed it normally rolls over into the following year automatically. Your refund may even be based on something else. The p21 should should explain it anyway.

I think I had something like this years ago. I submitted for rent tax credit, and P21 at the same time. Tax credit came back saying I was due X, and P21 wasnt updated to reflect this. Just resubmitted for another P21 and got it then.

That said, if your P21 lists your rent tax credit but what they owe you = 0, you get nothing.
