As promised, time for another VOAT!

    What is VOAT?
An informal short story competition open to anyone with a boards account.

Here are some previous versions so you can get an idea.
    13. Yuletide Yarns
    11. Opening Line
    10. Zappa
    9. Twilight Zone

    What's the prompt?
This time the prompt is this "carefully chosen" rights-free image.

    The word-count limit:
    2,000

    Deadline:
Midnight June 7th. But you can submit at any time up until that point.

    How to Enter:
Send it to me in a PM, and I will post it on your behalf.
Don't post it on the thread yourself.

    Voting:
    June 8th to 14th.

    Prizes:
    A sense of self-satisfaction.

    Anything else?
If you're entering something, you are expected to give feedback on other entries during the voting phase.

    Bump.
Reminder that time is moving on and some of us haven't got around to this yet.

I have a low quality start made...which is better than last time. Kiddies, don't try to do the majority of the work and edition in the last 30 mins before the deadline following an argument with the wife...

The stories have had hundreds of views but only a handful of voters in the poll. It closes tomorrow so have your say and give a bit of encouragement to those brave enough to put their work out there for anybody to comment on.
If you haven't got around to reading the stories yet, please do. There are three very different but equally good and fully original short pieces to entertain and hopefully inspire others to try.

And yes, even if you haven't submitted, your feedback is much appreciated.
