One for me tonight from a pure EW value angle is Hoe Hoe in the 8:40. Currently a much too big 33/1, considering the horse has a first, third and fourth from 4 previous runs on the track. Have watched the replays of this one again and I reckon the step up in trip does no harm at all

Stampede in the 7.50 Chelmsford should be the fav for me, the Godolphin horse looks like a right monkey and no surprise to see the visor applied. Still some 7/2 available and it will not last. Provided he's ready to go on his seasonal debut I think he will win.

CORTON LAD 3.50 newcastle looks generous at 16/1 tome as hes the only C&D winner in the field and is back down to his last winning mark
    2pts ew

Taken a punt on Freewheel in the 3.50 at Newcastle. Not one to have much confidence in but he's bred in the purple and I think he has more than enough ability to win a class 4 off a mark in the 70s if he is on a going day. Drop back in trip looks a good move as he has looked to not quite stay 12 furlongs previously, all in all 20/1 is possibly a bit too big.

Hearing good things about Never Learn (tizzards horse in the 8.00 Newton Abbot)
3/1 fav, first time on a race track but said to be working very well at home and will take all the beating.

Best of luck if you follow

    Mezogiorno 16-1 ew 8.10
Ran consistently good last summer, first run this year but I think it can compete for a
    place at least.
    Good value at 16-1

Someone put up Lady Ibrox last week.
    Runs 2.45 newcastle .
    Seems strong enough 6/1.

Lilly The Lioness 14-1 ew 8.40
Ran mostly over hurdles last year but had a few decent flat performances too that would
suggest it has a good chance here off of this weight.

2 different people have given me the same tip 8.10 RULER OF FRANCE. I cant see it myself but wondering if anyone has any views before i back it ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,722 ✭✭✭posturingpat

Cape Wolfe 7.10 Dundalk should run a good race. They'll be disappointed if he's not in the first 3. It's at Dundalk though so wouldn't get too carried away.

First off how reliable are the people that gave you the tip, have you received tips from these people before and how did they perform if you did?

RULER OF FRANCE: From the Racing Post "With small stable making excellent impression the last month; won at Gowran for David Wachman in 2013; ran decent race at Limerick last time in first-time blinkers; interesting that Wachman´s main rider, Wayne Lordan, takes the mount"

MY PAINTER: Should have won the last day and would have only for the jockey with this race comment again from Racing Post:
Was having her third run in a handicap and certainly caught the eye. She travelled in mid-division and had a position next to the stands´ rail. The rider was sitting there with his mount apparently full of running next to the rail and with a gap plenty big enough to push her through a furlong out, but he didn´t do so until well inside the final furlong with the winner having already made her move. Even then, she wasn´t asked to do a huge amount and one crack of the whip might have been good enough for her to win. The rider told the stewards´ that he didn´t see the winner out in the centre of the track and got a 14-day ban for his troubles.04/05/2015

Although this is not going to be much help to you, I think there are 4 or 5 that are capable of winning this so it is not a race I am getting involved in, and Ruler Of France could not be ruled out with any degree of confidence but like I say the same could be said for a few more as well.

Thanks for that. The 2 people i would say have a reasonable strike rate maybe 40-50%. I was thinking Iron Major ew if i was doing anything but i will probably have a small ew on the tip i got. Id never hear the end of it if it came in. Thanks again

Not great. Added the note "DO NOT BACK" on my tracker - no doubt he'll dot up next time out.

Not very good either, look to need the race tiring late on, the drift before the race was very ominous, only thing I got right was opposing the Godolophin yoke.

****e all round... Onwards and upwards

Excellent. Only backed them singly but a win is a win!
