hey need some advice. I am due to go on a third date during the week but he has left it all up to me with what to do. So far we have went for dinner twice and the cinema so I am totally out of ideas. We live in the country so the nearest place is 45 mins away. I was going to suggest a movie night and food at mine since its midweek but I still live at home (although the parents wouldn't mind) and I don't want to give him the wrong impression. I was going to give him the option is staying in or going out would that be best? Also on Friday Theres a drinks gathering with my old workplace I was invited to go to, I was going to ask him to go with for the craic but would that be pushing it too? Not used to this dating craic! Any advice appreciated

For a third date, I wouldn't be inviting him to your parents place or to drinks with your workmates...you're just getting to know it each other so it seems a bit early for all that. A lovely thing to do for a date is go for a nice walk, and maybe have food/ drinks afterwards. Or instead of the movie night at your place, go to the cinema. Enjoy your date!!

He wouldn't actually be meeting my parents though. As regards the drinks.. It's a going away party for a girl I used to work with a year ago and I haven't seen any of them since I left so was going to go for dinner first then go to the pub for an hour and then home. I don't think he'd mind too much he would get on with anyone.
We have done both the Dinner and the cinema at this stage so don't know if He want to do it again. Plus I'm thinking since he wants me to decide he wants something different.. Third date and all??

What do you mean by 'give him the wrong impression'?

Does he have his own place? Maybe call over there with wine and ingredients and cook him dinner?

A picnic could be nice? Depends on the person though. I hate eating outdoors because the wind will blow my hair into my face and it feels like a challenge to eat rather than getting to enjoy the food, but that's just me! It's something to think of in case you do go down that road. :P

Are there one of those farms around that you can take a visit to? That could be nice, unless one of you have your own farm. Then the novelty has kind-of worn off I guess.

Is there somewhere to go bowling or maybe to a fun class (pottery maybe)?

Or how about make a day of it and head to Dublin for Dublin Zoo or Cork to visit the Fota Wildlife Park?

This is exactly what I was going to suggest..
On our 3rd or 4th date my now husband- to-be suggested we go to Fota Wildlife.. and because its over a two hour drive we made a day of it and went to a cosy pub on the way home for dinner :)
Has to be one of the most enjoyable early dates I was ever on!

Great idea on the Dublin Zoo or Fota - I did these and loved them too.. Another good one is visiting the Cliffs of Moher followed by a drive to Father Teds house:) Stop off for lunch somewhere along the way. Anything you can make a day out of would be brilliant and a welcome change from your typical dinner/drinks/cinema..

Afternoon tea in the Westbury. Really nice comfortable environment which will give you a lot of time to chat.
