Hey guys. This is gonna be my first time buying a PC. I have nearly all my parts picked except for the power supply, I just haven't got aroun to it yet.
Here's what I've got so far:
    hardwareversand.de/en/4096+MB/180367/Zotac+GeForce+GTX+970%2C+4GB+DDR5.article
    hardwareversand.de/en/Sockel+1150/165474/Intel+Core+i5-4690+Tray.article
    hardwareversand.de/en/7200+RPM/53881/Seagate+Barracuda+7200+2000GB%2C+SATA+6Gb+s.article
    hardwareversand.de/en/1600+Low+Voltage/125974/8GB-Kit+Crucial+Ballistix+Sport+Series+DDR3-1600%2C+CL9.article
    hardwareversand.de/en/DDR3/169019/ASRock+H97+Pro4%2C+Sockel+1150%2C+ATX.article
    hardwareversand.de/en/PCI+Express/222400/Level+One+GNC0112+Gigabit+PCIe+Network+Card.article?adp=0&&agid=2920&apop=620
    hardwareversand.de/en/Midi/182002/Antec+GX505+Window+Midi-Tower+-+schwarz.article
    hardwareversand.de/en/S-ATA/101094/Samsung+SH-224DB+schwarz.article

Sorry I can't post the actual links, I'm a new user!

Using the 5% discount the total build (psu not picked out) comes to €841.24!

I would like any feedback if anybody has or used any of these parts.

Also the prices on Hardwarevarsan keep rising and occasionally falling. I was wondering if there were any guaranteed lower prices periods like annual sales where parts sell for less.
I was hoping to buy the rig this summer.

Thanks to all in advance for any advice:)

Well TBH straight away the Graphics card doesnt look the best.

What is your actual budget and we can go from there?

Looks good, is that a WiFi card? Won't need a card for a wired connection.

Would look at a MSI or ASUS 970 instead of Zotac, only €20 in difference iirc.

i5 4460 might be a good cpu, neglible performance loss for a bit of a saving.

500w PSU is loads. BeQuiet do a nice 500w for €55 or so.

Use Geizhals.de to know a few euro off the total

Slip a Crucial BX100 250gb for €90 if you can, worth it

Grand build though, more adjustments than anything, you picked a good mix.

I've pretty much hit my budget, it's €900 and i still have to get a psu. I was willing to go all out on the gpu cause that's what matters. I heard great things about this 970 and it was pretty cheap for a 970 too!

Ah Zotac are a sound brand, just for piece of mind. If you're comfortable with them then go for it

To be honest I've heard this a chance you could get this card and have annoying coil whine, I read review after review, some mentioned this and others thought theirs were perfect. I'll look into that cpu thanks and Thanks for the reccomended power supply, i had no idea what power i required.

Fairly sure all cards and PSUs can be suspectical to coil whine anyways

Oh never heard that! U don't happen to know when or if hardwarevarsan will be at it's cheapest this summer?

Don't think they do store wide sales as such, you could ask in the off topic on this forum though

I just came across this graphics card:
    hardwareversand.de/en/4096+MB/181194/Gigabyte+GeForce+GTX+970+WindForce+3X+OC%2C+4GB+GDDR5%2C+2x+DVI%2C+HDMI%2C+3x+DisplayPort.article

It's slightly cheaper but better performance!

Wind force are normally okay, if no issues pop up with a google then its good to go I'd say

My house mate in college had a wind force 760 w/ 2GB. He loved it. His only regret is not getting the 4GB version, new games are getting a bit demanding for it!

Yeah from all I've read (and I've read a lot about 970's) they are pretty much happy as larry with anything thrown at them at the 1080p range. Issues seem to emerge going above 1080p and pushing things to the limit, where the VRAM issue can sometimes occur.

Although it seems to be something the community as a whole feel is definitely a "thing" NVIDIA arn't acknowledging it. So basically the 970 is not a 4GB card, its a 3.5GB card. NVIDIA very much appear to have left the retailers at the dogs with this one. Amazon were giving 20% refunds and allowing customers keep the cards, Overclockers were doing full refunds as were Scan. So there is obviously some merit to the claims.

A lot of reasons have cropped up since November that have me very unsure about the 970, even with people assuring me for what I 'll be doing, it'll be fine

That's some interesting info thanks:) but are you trying to hint at not getting the 3x OC wind force? or are ya just dropping some serious knowlledge? I haven't got to look at any review of this card but I'll definitely get around to that before I buy!

Nah no hints, the windforce seemed to be very popular with early 970 adopters, but looking at the market now, it's not very popular.

The overclockers thread is genuinelly brilliant for 970 knowledge, those guys are pretty much at the cutting edge with new tech, and they run them into the ground with OC and benchmarking etc.

But you'll notice reading through it so many people selling a brand of 970 and moving onto something else, where as most people would keep the card until the next series launches. So its a good marker for whats recommended.

The Gigabyte G1 and the Galax (now known as like Kfa2 or something in EU) appear to be the ones they recommend now. But you can pop over there and have a read. Their GPU sub forum is immense. Not that this isn't, just you literally have hundreds of users there posting their feedback and recommendations.
