I would say that quite possibly looking good for you. If they were going to refuse you they would have said so already. Now you just need to pass the means test. Good luck:)

Yes the bank statement and other financial stuff is for the means test. Disability Allowance is a means tested payment. If you are above the means then you won't qualify. Say you are married or live with your significant other their earnings would impact your case. If you are single and broke you shouldn't have any problems.

Basically if you have over €20k in the bank it will reduce your claim entitlement.

Actually be prepared to be refused ,
A lot of applications are refused despite in some cases people suffering serious medical and psychological conditions.

I got it last year. Whole process took 7 months including appeal. My initial application had all my financial info so I wasn't asked again. Yes I had to have a letter from my consultant who wrote that in addition to working with me I had an occupational therapist and social worker all part of my team.

After that I had the interview with the board which was a very nice Doctor. He listened to everything I had to say. I was approved two weeks later and first payment processed a month after that.

So seven months of pure hell.

The final decision is made by civil servants who are not doctors or even medically trained afaik, they are just people working in an office who are always being told to "cut" the budgets and costs as much as possible. they seem to ignore any medical opinion or evidence.

Also the department doctors are no better than civil servants and their assessments/examinations can often be very basic such as asking a person to stand up then sit down then their decision is made. seems they are on a nice little earner with lots of expenses like a very generous mileage allowance or travel in first class/by taxi and slap up lunches in local hotels.
