Contract Termination

    Hi

I left a company on a career break agreed by email. I didn't sign anything before I left and there is nothing in my original contract that mentions career break.

Does the fact that I was issued a p45 mean that my employment contract was terminated on that date? I have been given all expenses owed and holidays in lieu.

    Thanks

Sounds like it yes; most likely to avoid issues such as holidays etc. when you're on your break and of course the big question is if they'll hire you once you're coming back as you have nothing in writing (i.e. change in manager or similar could lead to problems down the line potentially).

Cheers. Please note, rehire or not doesn't bother me. Just trying to figure out whether employment contract is terminated on issue of p45 and all payments made.

Would an email trail in agreement to a career break amend what the contract's specifies?
