    Hey guys,

Back from Asia and missing Hashing! If you don't know what Hashing is I will explain briefly below. But first if there are any other lads who have hashed before is there any interest in setting up a Limerick Kennel I know there is a Dublin Hash and a fairly new one up in Galway but the commute is a bit much... If there is enough interest maybe we can start one here?

And for you virgins out there, Hash House Harriers are a drinking club with a running problem which originates from Malaysia in 1938. Essentially They meet up to run, drink and socialise fairly regularly. The pack of runners will chase what is known as a Hare. A hare is a runner who leaves 10 minutes early with a bag of flour and drops the flour as a trail for you to follow. there is more too it but i'm too tired to explain now :D

After the run much drinking and merriment takes place during down downs and then after down downs we will goto eat and drink further in whats known as a bash you can read all about it on the wikipedia page Here

TLdr: Any Hashers around Limerick interested in setting up our own kennel?

    On-On

    On-On Ding Bu Dong

It's really good to hear from you. I'm with the Limerick Loopers and introduced them to their first hashing trail last September. It went down really well and I'm on a promise to set some more trails in the summer – it would be great to have you on board with us if you're interested.

The Loopers are a friendly, informal crowd – great hashing potential (I haven't yet introduced them to the full post r*n ceremony, not quite yet...) – and always welcome to newbies / “virgins”. I was with the London City Hash for a few years myself until I moved to Limerick last year and – like yourself – was surprised to see so little of it here in Ireland.

We meet at the Treaty Stone (opposite King John's Castle) in Limerick City most Mondays and Thursdays at 7 o'clock for a short 5-8km run. Just turn up, there's normally some of us about unless there's holidays on.

PM me if you'd like more details, otherwise hopefully see you there some time.

Played this with 4 friends and a group of American evangelical missionaries in Galway one night years ago, we all ended up ****faced and only one of them didn't end up going home with a randomer.

    Obviously very liberal evangelical missionaries...
