Opel Corsa Engine Trouble

    Hi there

Bought a 05 Opel Corsa last year which I've had to spend a bit of money on fixing various issues as the dealers weren't the most scrupulous you'll ever meet to put it kindly .

On Thursday evening I was driving along the M50 when the engine management light came on, the car started losing power and juddering while idle. I just had it serviced the week before so this was a surprise to say the least!

I brought it to my mechanic immediately, who diagnosed the problem as a snapped camshaft and damaged head , so he's trying to source parts from salvage to keep the cost of the repair to a minimum, but my research has led me to believe I could still end up paying €700-800 euro to get it fixed.

My choice seems to be either get it fixed and hope nothing else goes wrong , then sell up in six months time or so, or trade in now and try and buy another car. I'd prefer to get it repaired and not have the hassle of looking for another car, but I equally don't want to be spending money on a car that's only going to continue to have problems going forward.

    Any advice?
    Thanks
