am using a Citroen dispatch , 2004 at the moment. the heater plug light goes out instantly, should it go out that quick, If not, what might the fault be.

On another note , do modern diesels, like under six year old have ANY heater plugs

    Thanks in advance

Bump I suppose, but on reading this I may not have made clear heat plugs lights go out in same instant as ignition switched on

It's fine if it's starting on colder mornings.
Direct injection engines are capable of starting straight off on all but cold mornings.
If there was a heater plug or plugs gone the light duration won't change it will just have problems in cold weather.

Thank you for your reply Brian
maybe I did not explain my questions properly
question 1 my recently acquired citroen dispatch starts after a few turns. not as quickly as other diesels have done in thew past when the heater plugs had warmed up the heater plug light on the dashboard goes out instantly, when the ignition is switched on.. This suggests to me that they could not have had time to heat up.. I suspect, without any knowledge , that there is a relay faulty.

I went on to google this and an exact same problem got the answer ,on a citroen board, that the connection on the wiring system to the heaters was the problem

my second question, as I have discdussed this with a fellow who should know, we disagreed. I believe that on a modern diesel car there are no heater plugs. am I right or wrong.?

    regards, rugbyman
