Can I get commercial tax?

I'm currently driving a 1.7 combo for work, all I use it for is going to and from work and bringing my tools in the back. I am an apprentice electrician so I'm not self employed or have a VAT number or anything. Is there anyway I can get the cheaper tax (333 I think) or do I have to tax it privately, which would be around…

You should be able to get it once you go to a garda station and fill out the declaration. Worse case scenario if you have a particularly fussey tax office you will have to get a letter of your employer to say you work for them and need the van for work.
