    Just looking for some advice...

I went to the hairdressers yesterday and it was a complete disaster! I naturally have an auburn hair colour but have had it coloured darker over the years. I decided I wanted to go back to my natural colour, or as close to it as possible. When I went into the hairdressers I explained all this to them and they said they'd have to cleanse the darker colour out of my hair first and then apply the colour. I've had this process done before so wasn't worried.
But as it happened I spent almost 5 hours in the hairdressers, she had to redo the colour three times as it kept turning out far too bright. In the end I was so tired and late for an appointment so paid and left. It wasn't until I got home and looked in the mirror that I truly realised how bad it was. My hair is really patchy and completely different colours! The hair close to the roots is a more natural looking auburn shade whereas the bottom of my hair is a bright red colour!
I am mortified! I wouldn't leave my house after getting home yesterday out of sheer embarrassment. I don't know if the light in the hairdressers was just very bad or if the colour I ended up with was just better in comparison to what it was before she redid it but if I had realised how bad it was when I was in the salon I never would have paid.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows if I would be entitled to a refund as it's not at all what I asked for and is patchy and different colours!? If they offer to fix it again I'm not sure I would trust them to get it right seeing as after three attempts this is as good as she could do! I'm just reluctant to let it go seeing as I spent a lot of money on it and would have to pay again to have it fixed elsewhere. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure on what you're entitled to, but I'd go back and explain it anyway. I know someone who complained about the nails they got done and they got a voucher to get them done again free.

This happened to me about a year ago. Same as yourself, didn't really realise how it looked until I got home. I had highlights done for a wedding and my roots were still completely visible, especially on the underneath part which I stressed I wanted covered as my hair would be in an upstyle. I rang and complained and she was mortified and said she would rectify it free of charge, so I would say depending on the nature of the hairdresser she may offer to fix it for you for free, but I doubt she will give you a refund.
